Youngus 2014 is promised to bigger, better and even more fun! No matter what your level of paddling, everyone is welcome to compete in this national u18s freestyle kayaking competition.
This year will consist of 5 events across the country, each with day winners and overall series winners in each category. Younguns, formerly Youth Freestyle, helped me develop my paddling and without the fun, friendly competition and coaching, I doubt I would be where I am today!
Each individual feature has been chosen as they are friendly and safe, allowing paddlers to learn new moves in an awesome environment.
Scoring is relaxed and especially in novice, anything goes, from the classic shudder rudder to the air guitar and role in the hole. Smiles and enthusiasm always gain you extra points, and even a gift of a chocolate bar can earn you a couple more.
