Hurley: 3 & 4 gates

With Christmas all over, and New Year just round the corner, I took another opportunity to head down to Hurley for more training.

With the sun out, the frost had melted but it was still quite chilly and the wwater was definitely cold - but this didn't stop us. In the morning, it was on 3 gates and we pretty much had it to ourselves! It was super holey, and more like 4 gates but it was still good practice as blunts would still go in two gates and there ws also great opportunity to practice hole moves, like loops and McNasty's.

For the afternoon session it swapped to 4 gates and it was really good to just paddle and experiment with lots of moves. On 4 gates, it is more difficult to do wave moves as it is more of a hole, but blunts, back blunts and roundhouses were still possible in two gates. Other than that we tried lots of cartwheels, splitwheels, McNasty's, loops and space Godzillas.

Overall it was another great day and although a fair amount of time was spent trying hole moves, it was still great to be paddling and blunts, particuarly on the right, seem to be getting much closer.
